Brief: Following the success of previous projects, equestrian clients engaged Henry Francis Design to create a new high-performance horse stable in the scenic surrounds of Harkaway, Victoria.

Harkaway Stables

Designed with longevity in mind, every element of the stables was carefully considered to ensure exceptional durability and resistance to daily wear. Crafted from natural materials including stone and timber, the architecture harmonises with the surrounding landscape. Three distinct gabled roof forms lower the overall profile of the building, enhancing its elegance and adding a sense of prestige.

The stables are laid out in a cruciform plan, providing three access points to a central walkway and adjoining stalls — a configuration that optimises both movement and functionality.

To complement the design and meet the demands of a working equestrian facility, REGUPOL equiline walkway flooring was specified by Henry Francis Design for the central aisle. This premium flooring was selected for its exceptional resilience, comfort, and ease of maintenance.

“The well-being of the clients' performance horses, combined with ease of maintenance and long-term durability, was central to our flooring selection.”
